Not that OT at all. I spy something that's very on topic on the left side of this pic. It's a nice rig, too.

It's OK, man. That's an electric upright bass (EUB), great for playing Salsa and certain types of colombian music. This one is made in Cali, Colombia and it's a very quiet-sounding instrument, but with the amp input set to "passive" and a decent volume it sounds great.
