It seems there is a thread at least once a week asking the difference between the mm90s and other pickups. I made some mp3 files comparing MM90s with EVH pickups. Hopefully this will help those who can't find to try out. I tried to play up high and low on the neck on each file to give tonal qualities in each place. I only did the full neck or bridge, not all the options in between. I didn't want to miss The Simpsons.

MM90 Clean sound: bridge, then neck

MM90 Distortion: bridge (even though I said neck), THEN neck

Humbucker From Hell in the neck position. (this is not standard on the Axis)

XOXO,

This is great, Danny. What amp are you playing through? Lovin' the tone of the MM90s!

Thanks, man.

I'm thinking MM90 AL as well. Maybe, Black Cherry Burst, Pacific Blue Burst, or a Limited Edition somewhere down the line unless I come across an "EBay/Craigslist treasure." Of course, BP, Dargin, and Dudley could derail any kind of plans I had with a BFR AL.

i liked it also very helpful for some but the tone for the evh's just dropped out and was way thin and bright. those dont sound anything like my axis pickups. strange. did you use the same settings for both guitars.

I used the exact same settings on both guitars. I like a TON of midrange, which I think really makes the EVH pickups shine, but that's just me.

Yea, those are killer clips for sure. I've never been too into P90s but those MM90 clips are awesome. I have an Axis on order and was considering sell my Tech 21 amp but now I may keep it to see how the Axis sounds with it.

What a fantastic thing you did here!
If it were in my power I would get you an "Attaboy"

This is the coolest thing I will hear this week!

BTW I thought the MM90's sounded delicious.

Silly man that I am, I would not have given the MM90's a chance. Now I'm looking forward to trying them out and possibly getting an AL since I've always loved the neck on them but prefer humbuckers.

Good job and thanks for making this.

Thanks for bumping this thread, and thanks radrock for making those clips, can't wait for the Axis SS I've got on order to arrive now (although it is still several months away).
