Dang, Bov - I can't stop looking at the GrapeRay. Do you think "Shausage-Fingers" would part with it? Can ya hook me up, bro? ;)

That Trans Purple was my first choice - If so many people liked that color - where'd it go?!? :D

You'd have to ask Mr Sausage Fingers, but my guess is - no.

He seems to be gigging with it a lot. And he tends to hold on to things longer than some of the, ahem, others.

Oh well, who would want that goofy purple thing anyway? (Gratuitous Sour Grapes Statement made so I don't start crying) :(

Cool Sig, CG!

I have a 2002 Translucent Purple StingRay 4 with pearl white pickguard and maple fingerboard. It's a really cool color...a very "grape" shade of purple. I haven't seen too many purple StingRays but there are a few out there.

I may have misunderstood the previous posts...but is someone looking for a purple StingRay? The reason I ask is because I'm thinking about selling mine to fund a fretless StingRay. If there's any interest please feel free to e-mail me.

Hey Fuzz. Actually I'd need a 5 string but I'd love to see pics of yours. If it's the same as Bov's ex-GrapeRay it is one cool color!
AND OH YES - PLEASE POST PICS - someone on the forum may be interested in buying it or trading for a fretless!

Thanks for the welcome to the EB forum, spectorbassguy. As you and cgworkman have requested, here's a picture of my 2002 Translucent Purple StingRay (which happens to be for sale). If I can successfully attach a picture to this post then I'll provide a few more pics.

Apparently the picture above has used up three-fourths of my file upload quota...so it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to post any more pictures for now. If anyone wants to see additional pictures of my purple 'Ray just let me know.

If you'd like, I could host the pics for you on my webspace. Send me a PM if you're interested. Nice bass, by the way! :)

Sorry for the double post, but this popped up on Harmony Central's Classified Ads:
====

2002 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay, 4-string, EXC+
Asking Price: US$850
Condition: Excellent
Age: 2 years
Description:
FOR SALE: 2002 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay (4-string) in EXC+ condition. Body is a very cool-looking Translucent Purple which looks "grape" in color (not on the fuschia/magenta side of purple)…a rare color which Ernie Ball offered for only a year or two. Pickguard is White Pearloid and looks great with the Trans Purple finish. Has a maple fingerboard, and the back of the maple neck has some nice figure with a bit of flame and birdseye which is seldom seen on recent Ernie Ball basses. Has the standard 2-band EQ which I believe sounds more similar to the pre-EB StingRays than the optional 3-band EQ. I hand-picked this bass after trying out 5 or 6 other StingRays at a local music store. I found this one to be the best of the bunch in terms of tone, weight, construction, looks and overall "vibe".

I won't describe this bass as "MINT" because it's not brand new. However, I believe it's as close to brand new as a pre-owned bass can be...therefore I'm describing the condition as EXC+. I've played this bass at home only, and there are no noticeable scratches, dings or other cosmetic issues. The frets are in great shape, too.

The bass comes with the original Music Man case, unused cleaning cloth and Music Man hang tags. Asking $850 plus shipping/insurance (sorry...not interested in a trade). Please e-mail or call with questions or to request pics. Feel free to check my eBay feedback (“jbkbanks”) which is all positive!

Yes...that's me. Just posted the ad on Harmony-Central and Bassgear.com yesterday. Just sent pics to kdsi44 per his e-mail request.

Midopa...I may take you up on your offer to host my additional pics on your webspace. How would I go about doing that (or at least getting the pics to you)?

Thanks,
Son of Fuzz (in honor of "Fuzz", my dad)
