All of which gets me fired up when I see eejuts making unsubstantiated claims on ebay that the new ones can never be as good as the "vintage" one they are currently selling. Well they would say that wouldn't they? Nevertheless, by now I've had a few of them, old, mid-age and new and those guys are blowing it out their backsides as far as I am concerned.

Couldn't have said it better!!

(Oh, and none of these have "the weak G thing". Come to think of it none of the others I formerly owned had that either. Clearly there must be something wrong with me :p)

+1

The longer I hear and think about that myth, the more I get the impression that either other pickups compensate for the naturally lower output of the G string, or players don't really care about the G string until they start playing a 'Ray.
