This actually brings the price down a few hundred dollars. I could pull off that deal I was working on last week, after all.

You could check out Guitar Centre - they've had lots of special run Stingrays - there are even some with 2 band EQ and a push/pull active - passive control - in the platinum room area I think.
Also the 2012 Premier Dealer Network specials are honeyburst with roasted birds eye maple neck, pau ferro board, mahogany body - look pretty awesome - you may find a dealer who has ordered a 2 band SR4 in this pattern.
On the question of your 20th Anniversary Stingray - could you post some pics - that is most curious.

FWIW ......
IIRC, the 'Classic' neck is not only figured but
is also glossy finished on the back. Lotsa folks
avoid glossy necks. If you are one such folk,
then you don't hafta mourn the fact that you
can't order a 'Classic' neck as a simple option.

All good info, here. I am gravitating to the modern rendition of the SR4. Still have to decide whether to finance now or save up. Saving up will take me a couple of months but the joy will be tremendous!
