Spiced Melange Majesty fretboard

Is the maple fretboard of the Majesty Spiced Melange lacquered? I saw Petrucci playing it in a video and it looked really shiny, not sure if it's the guitar or something he treated it with for faster playing....

Yes, it is finished to protect the burst/tint that goes along the sides of the neck and just barely on to the front of the fretboard.

Thanks, I wonder if that feels different when playing, not sure i currently have any finished fretboards (I don't think my maple axis is). Are the other maple JP and majesty boards the same or it's just because of the unique burst on this one?

On some closeups it actually looks scalloped, maybe because the finish builds up a bit against the frets.

I have majesty7 SM number 43 to exact
I was a little nervous about the finished fingerboard… I love it!
Good thing it has stainless steel frets because refret at some point would be a nightmare.
