Hello :)

I'm just wondering if any of you take part in sporting activities for fun, particularly extreme sports. I used to be into skateboarding and snowboarding but I broke my wrist once and it set me back guitar wise for a couple of months. I'd love to start skateboarding again but I don't want to brake any bones hahaha. Do any of you have the same fear/problem? :)

although i'm finding changing strings can be as extreme as i get when time is limited... LOL

Did Karate for some time. One night my calf muscle went "bang" , change of job yadda yadda but I still look back on those days with a lot of satisfaction.

When I was younger I was a climber but I had to choose between climbing and playing the guitar : rock climbing is very hard for your fingers. I am on the Ernie Ball forum, thus I think you guess which activity I chose !
Now I am a long distance runner (marathon) ...

I race Motocross. I've had several serious injuries over the years, but am doing fine at the moment (knocking on wood). It's by far my favorite thing to do next to music, and keeps me in much better shape than strumming the guitars and mandolins.

first one to the bottom gets a free darklord! (just adding some ebmm content)

i too broke my left wrist a couple of years ago, and last year broke a finger. both injuries have effected my guitar playing and my golf game. strangely enough, this last winter i strained my right hand while chopping firewood....it's still bothering me.

I do various forms of martial arts. Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Krav Maga, and help coach MMA fighters. I do close quarters combat shooting and long distance rifle shooting. I used to sky dive, but, had an incident years ago that now keeps me in the plane.

When I was younger I was an international martial arts competitor and had three first degree blackbelts before I could drive a car.
I was a wrestler after that for several years and coached wrestling at a local high school
And then I did judo for a year or two as well

When I was younger I was heavily into vert skateboarding during grade school and college in Southern California. I fractured each wrist twice and I fractured my upper left arm (on the morning of a final exam my first quarter of college, ha ha).

In graduate school getting my Ph.D. I fractured my left foot ... couldn't operate the clutch and therefore couldn't drive.

Today at 47, I am a college professor and I still skate, but nothing extreme. :)

A lot of mountain biking and road biking here too. I used to play a lot of golf but my heart needed more cardio than what golf offers.

Thanks for the replies team :)

Some there gave me a right giggle. I'm thinking of getting back into skateboarding and cycling, just casually and nothing too risky lol.
