After reading SteveB's tip, another came to mind for me - go wireless!!!!

The X2 wireless has changed everything for me - a wireless with no tone loss that functions perfectly. Just came back form practice about 20 minutes ago where I used it again - the thing is amazing! And it really reduces the tripping over cables issue.

I'd love to, but I run stereo (trs) cable from my JP6 into the splitter box. If someone makes a wireless that can transmit the combined mags+piezo signal in one trs jack connection, I'll buy it in a heartbeat! (Consequently, I've got a wireless that just collects dust these days.)

But I certainly agree that wireless is great for performing.

Zip ties work great but I save them for cables and stuff that are not transported to gigs. I find the zipties to be rough on my hands (espically if you trim them). For cables that are going to stay together I just used black electrical tape. Sure makes wrapping the cable at the end of a gig easier and it stays put better than velcro.

For velcro check out the crafts department at you favorite hugh retail store. It's an F-ton cheaper and you get so much more variety.

Just say no to high friction cables.

if you use hercules wall hangers and have kids that can reach em.. be sure to pad the wall where the body might hit it if the guitar is pushed against the wall.. (hehe.. usual reaction with kids.. if they cant move it in one direction, try another)

also the small wonder wipe cannisters: dont remove the plastic cover. just use a sharp knife to cut a hole small enough for you to get hold of the content. they last much longer if the plastic cover seal the opening..
