I'm definitely need one more single H w/piezo Music Man 5 banger and my last choice ( well, at this moment  ) is SR 5 Hp after I tried one at my local dealer.

Now, the question:

Is it possible custom order of that model in BFR series with maple FB and without PG, 'cause PGs on SR 5 are pretty ugly to me!

One more thing, I saw similar bass at one live gig and there were pot knobs from JP guitar model on the SR 5 !!!
Looks damn good!

So, is it possible over my local dealer to make a such custom order of that model, and which wood front finishes are in offer instead PG, if exist?

Thanks in advance! :)

I don't think that's possible, you'll have to buy a Ball family reserve SR5 with 'wood top' if you want one.

Some are available @shopatron but you'll have to contact EB to order one for your country :)

OK, that's exactly what I would like, but is there BFR with maple FB available?

And which "wood tops" are available?

Any link to see some pics please?

How much more price is for BFR SR 5 Hp?

Thanks in advance! :)

I see there are 3 available, but only one SR5

USD 2999 is ofcourse quite a a difference with the 1699 for a 'normal' SR5

http://www.ernieball.com/forums/mus...icial-ball-family-reserve-picture-thread.html

Here is a list with (I think) all BFR's produced and where they were sent. So if you like on of those , you should check out the locations that are mentioned with each bass, and contact them.

That's all Iknow about the BFR's, hope this helps!

Edit: http://www.basscentral.com/musicman/Ball_Family_ReserveSterling.shtml

you could mail basscentral and ask if they ship the BFR's overseas ;)

Well, thanks a lot Bart B!

But This BFR picture thread is a Sterling one!

I thought that SR means Sting Ray  , I was actually talking about Stingray 5 Hp!

So, does exist Stingray 5 BFR series?

Anyway, it cost allmost doubble, so it seems that I should consider regular SR 5 with "ugly" PGs
By the way Sterling's PGs are nice, standard oval Music Man trade mark and I love these!

Never mind, when I play it I don't look at the PG :D

I'll talk about that matter with my local dealer soon! ;)

you can order anything you see on Ernie Ball Music Man Instruments

that being said: each instrument listed there has its own list of options and specs... your order is limited by those options. ex: if something doesn't list piezo as an option then you can't order it

the MM ordering process isnt a custom shop order... its just the stuff they normally make but given the fact that theyre not a mass production shop some available combos probably wont be found locally (or anywhere). in cases like that your best bet to getting one is to have your fav dealer to place an order for you

Thanks phatduckk!

Well, I watched this regular Music Man instrument official web site offer and as an EBMM fan I really know almost everything about whole bass range including schematic diagrams :D so, I was just wondering if these BFRs offers something else, but never mind, I'll talk with my official dealer soon, I'm gonna order one of Levy's straps too next week, check also some unfinished neck maintenance stuff ...etc. ;)

By the way, I was positively impressed with playing one of regular SR 5 Hp Tobacco Burst w/maple FB (black PG) bass hanging in the local store, but it's pretty expensive, I should talk with dealer about possible discount, 'cause it's 2009. model..., it must go "down" for a cash...

Well, sorry guys to bother again, but to avoid opening the new Thread, I'm gonna put one more question according Stingray 5 Hp model:

Question:

could someone explain me center switch position due to a official schematic diagram below:

...there writes: coil 1 + coil 2 + filter !!!

What is that "filter" thing?

I belive it replaces the old single coil mode which engaged the dummy coil underneath.
The newer pickups have no dummy coil, but simulate the single coil sound, by using modified series, with preamp tweaking(capacitors/ filter), in the center position

OH, I see :( ..., well from my point of view that was not necessary, I mean parallel/series should be enough in combination with piezo pan pot mix, 'cause nothing can replace single coil + dummy tone!
But that's my personal opinion!

This bolded is just waste of resources and rises the price of the bass!
I mean this tweak & fake of single coil tone could be done with the preamp, cutting some bass, boosting some middle and so...etc.

Anyway, I tried SR 5 Hp and find out parallel magnetic with piezo 50/50% balance the winner combination, even with preamp all in center, it really sounds awesome!
