I've done a few searches and can't find anything that answers this question:
Is it the same pre amp in the SR4 2EQ that's in the Classic SR4?
My search wasn't totally fruitless though, I found a verrrrrry interesting post by BP talking about the 2 eq versus the 3 eq: "Keep in mind that the design objective with the three band was for the player to keep the mid flat and boost the treble and bass and replicate the two band preamp. With the treble and bass boosted this is the classic setting for the old school stingray. The idea was that you should get the classic sound and tons of tones inbetween." Hallelujah!!
