Hi guys, i've been trying to find info about a bass thats for sale around here...

It's a Stingray 4, with an ebony board, string-through, 2 band EQ. NON matching headstock.

Seller says its the german exclusive, but that one (afaik) has a matching headstock.

I believe this one might be a GC run, did those come in black? Also, is the body standard ash as opposed to mahogany like the german one?

Thanks!

IIRC when GC crudely 'copies' an elite edition,
one of the things they usually [always?] ditch
is the ebony FB. Base on just memory and my
occasional trips to GC.

Well the serial numbers thread came up with this:

"This 2EQ String Through StingRay was completed on August 6th, 2009. The color is black with the ebony fretboard. It was originally shipped to Guitar Center. "

So, im guessing its not the german/austrian exclusive...

Do you guys know if these Guitar Center rays are ash or mahogany like the germans?

Thanks again!

Ok, Joel replied in the other thread the body is ASH.

Just putting it here so all the info together is in this smaller thread should anyone look for it.
