here's a couple of clip of my SR4 with a set of vintage Fender flats 50-105 (vintage means that they where in the shop for the last 10 years or so... :D)
(first time I put flats on my bass)

Sr4 eq flat into Sansamp BDDI (fat tube mode) into soundboard.
I didn't know what to play this time so I'm just playing the very first things that came into my mind on the drum clips.

what can I say...I love my SR4 with flats, maybe I'm going to switch to a 45-105 instead of the 50-105 cause the G is really too big...

anyway, hope you enjoy ;) (though I'm not a great player)

Thank you very much guys for the kind words...
unfortunately, the truth is that I'm a really bad player that never took a single lesson in his life... I'm the rock kinda guy who plays hard with a pick in DADG all the time..
maybe it's this great SR4 that take the best out of me...;)

ps: these old fenders sounds really good but are too big for my taste, especially the G string which is a 50..so probably I'm going to switch..
can you school me on EB flats or other brands (I know this is not the right place to ask about other brands) :D
in terms of sound , tension and sticky/or not feel?

It's the first time I record something played with 3 fingers...

full of mistakes... (hey...I'm not SH  )

and here's the bass clip (sorry, there's plenty of strange noises clicks and hiss...I don't know why...probably the minijack adaptor I use...)

!!!

Well... I never understood why he went down that very strange road to use a bass and strings that produce more or less no highs, and then eq the hell out of it and change strings every day to get that metallic twang. Got that sound pretty easily on a Sterling with EB stainless steel strings...

All that said... SH and RW (of PF) were the reason I started to play bass... :D no wonder I started on a P...

well, It was a joke but I actually don't know the answer to your question...the only thing I'm sure is that the SR with flats to my hears has way more presence in the mix then the P (wich is anyway a GREAT BASS) but I can understand that when you play with 3 guitar player you need to try everything to find the right space in the band
my band it's a "power trio" but we added a second guitar player for live gigs and since then I started having problems finding the right space for my sound and I also started to sacrify more and more mids wich were the foundations of my personal tone...but...it's necessary...

Ps: do you guys understand my bad english?
despite the Certificate I had from the Cambridge University (they say I can speak english :D) I'm always wondering if you really understand everything I write on this forum...

Ps: I'm not really into maiden and that kind of metal, but I really like this song.
