I read in this months bass rag that EB is doing upgrades on the single humbucker rays and sterlings for $100.

Do I contact customer service if I want to do this or my local dealer?

It seems like a good deal for the money, so has anyone done this, and is it worth it?

I think Ed was referring to $100 being the upcharge to get a HH built over a single H. I'm pretty sure EB does not upgrade existing single H basses to HH............and to the 5 string elitist.....go take a shower Stanky!

I'll quote this months Bass Guitar magazine (the one with Bootsy and Flea on the cover)

From Page 58
"The big story is the new pickup configurations. (The HH and HS setups can be ordered as an upgrade on older models of either bass [sterling or ray] for $100-a small price to pay for so much versatility.)"

While I see your point, that quote could be interpreted that way, however its just a bit of unfortunate wording. There is no factory upgrade for existing 1 pickup Musicmans.

It is an "upgrade" over the existing model, as in the "upgrade" being another available option.

By older models he means the "original" Single H models.

Cant get the pickup added.

Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

I figured that as I was typing it out. I thought it was too good to be true.

Is there enough cash in Free Parking to fund a HH Ray for me?

:)

Hey Whatsabass...it would be well worth the money and wait to order a HH Ray (unless you can find one you like locally).

The different tones you get with the 5-way switching and 3-band EQ (if ordered that way) are like having several basses in one!

I'm in love with mine, and I get major compliments on my tone!
