Hey all!

While watching the Chiefs dismantle the Broncos this evening, I watched John Fogerty and his band perform the Halftime show. His bass player played what appeared to be a relatively early Ray. Natural with old-style bridge, what appeared to be a slab body and full-length MM Stingray decal on the headstock. It was also unusual to me in that it had a black PG and white pickup cover. Very cool! :D

If I'm not mistaken Jack del Bongo knows Fogerty's guitar tech or something like that.

It's always great to see folks playing EB.

I watched that game too. Yup it was cool to see the very early natural Ray with white pickup. I don't like Fogerty at all tho...but the bass is was kept me watching the 1/2 time show.

The guy we saw wasn't really playing though.

The tracks and BG vocals were recorded the previous week with Fogerty's regular band - which includes George Hawkins jr on bass and Kenny Aronoff on drums. Both guys apparently had previous engagements.

Hawkins does play a red MM Ray though. It's a beaut. I saw it this summer.

For my money, nobody place those Creedence songs like this guy.

I saw Fogerty in June 2005 at the HOB in New Orleans. The show was fan-freaking-tastic! His bass player was playing a F^nder at the time. I think he switched to Music Man basses shortly after.
