I love my 20th HS maple. Most versatile bass I've ever owned. It's also the best looking and feeling one too. :D

$1500 is an absolute steal. I saw the HH in the classifieds and had to weld my wallet shut, lock it in a safe and toss it into the ocean to keep myself from buying it.

A real beauty. I'd probably have hit the BIN, but I'm moving in two weeks and will need a whole load of new furniture and not another bass...

I did buy it in the end. After all the praise from you guys - this better be good! :)

I'm still surprised that no one else bid on it, so my opening bid of $1350 won the auction. I'm still thinking - where's the catch?

Maybe people are keener on the HH and HS models these days...

Not I. I like the single H.

Man, I sooo want one of these... I had a Bongo 5 and stupidly flipped it, though I did use the money to buy a 30th Anniversary Stingray... so at least I stayed within the EBMM family.

The SR5 20th is such an amazing looking and sounding bass.

Congratulations on your purchase/score - you did extremely well :)

Andy (who is seriously lusting after one)

These are going to become hard to get in very short order. BP said that not that many were made/sold so if you get a chance.....I'm sure glad I got mine!

mmmm .... looks good. The bass too. Love to come share a martini with ya some time Jack. Well, not share the same one ... you know what I mean.

Liverbird .. congrats man. Catch? Everything about this one says "no catch". Those guys at audio classics are legit, man. That bass is NOS ... perfect. Plainly and simply, you just got one of the best deals I've ever seen on a musical instrument. You know the saying "if it seems too good to be true it probably is"? This is an exception.

Of course, if you end up feeling otherwise, please give me first right of refusal, and I mean that sincerely. :)

1350 is a steal!!!!

i cant see how you can go wrong: you have a sr5 that looks like a sr4, a gorgeous top with that sweet sweet caramel burst color. and lets not forget the mahogany toneblock.. the b string on this bass is as good as it gets. tonal clarity, fat bottom that doesnt disappear... but you still retain the zing in the sound. 35" scale to get good tone? forgets about it.. you can haz with 34" ;)

Have to agree (emphasis above mine). There's no way I'd even consider selling mine USED for that price so to get a minty new one is an incredible steal, IMO.

"he who hesitates is lost"

Hey liver,
even though I'm still only one-handed and haven't played mine, she's the only one who could help me through the grief of missing out on an '07LE Blue Dawn version SR5 or BONGO5 ... don't pass the "chance of a lifetime" every EBMM is a good buy, but the 20th is a BIG slice above regular fare ... GO!:)

TImes are tough for al lot of people and I fear it going to get a lot worse. I do not want that comment to stir a political debate...but whatever you are into there are deals. t makes it harder for us too....

Here is what we have learned so far with the Anniversary and BFR basses. Bassists dont care about figured wood like the guitarists do. They sell at a much slower pace. THey interesting thing is that with the tone block and the ood cocktail that we use they really do sound different and I think better. Oh well

I have to say, I have owned about 9 different SR5's and the only one that I still have in my stable is the 20th. Tone like no other, and I guess I'm not like other bassists as I LOVE the look!

BP, I am one of the many who has had to downsize for economic reasons. That should show you and others how I feel about the 20th. :D
