SR5 maple/ceramic vs rosewood/alnico

Hi folks.
Question here for ye.
I've a 2013 SR5 with rosewood neck and alnico pickups and my friend has a 1999 SR5 with maple neck and ceramic pickups.
Mine sounds noticeably louder than his.

Could this be right?

Do both have fresh batteries? Are the pickups adjusted the same height? Same gauge strings?

All of those are things that could influence the output level of the bass. Also how the EQ is set.

I have found that my ceramic stingray has more mids than my alnico stingray, but the volume is about the same.

The 1999 should not have "pick ups" plural,
so there's another difference. Strings were
already mentioned, but do you use cobalts ?
That would be a noticeable boost.
