Unless you're going to change the bridge you'll find that the pole pieces won't line up with the strings as the OLP has much narrower string spacing than the SR5.

I may be in the market for a new bridge as well!!!

Why would you take the preamp and pickup out of a SR5? Isn't that part of the EB sound? Or is there a popular mod that is common for these basses? Like with the graphite necks years ago.

I believe Bassmonkee picked up the SR5 with an aftermarket pre-amp in it. I believe he is going to take out the aftermarket unit, and put in an original unit. Right?

Good to see it went to one of the "family"! I have no idea why anyone would pull the pickup/preamp, but hey, their folly is someone else's gain!

Actually, I bought a Bongo preamp with the intention of either throwing it into a non-MM bass, or getting a single H Bongo, and swapping out the 3 band preamp with my spare 4 band.
