difficult question to search for. i've been playing a sterling strung bead and mostly stuck with lo-rider 130's. the action is tolerable but not great and i don't feel there's much else to be done to improve it. also, i've never been really satisfied with the tone of the b-string.

so are there any electronic differences with the stingray 5 that would allow for a better sounding b string or would they basically sound the same, with the exception of body design?

have you ever tried different strings?

i tried a lot of different strings, but finally i end up with the super slinkys (and rotos for a more agressiv sound).

yes i've tried several strings and i like either lo-riders or hi-beams the most. didn't really care for eb strings.
