yes, yes and yes to all 3 questions, but... do you realize that the preamp and controls are mounted on the pickguard therefore you will have all those wires and circuit board exposed, viewable, can you live with that?

A clear pickguard would work a lot better on a Sterling, Bongo or Stingray4 where the controls are enclosed in their own cavitiy but with the Stingray 5 it might not look that appealing. This is my opinion of course.

Now the bad news is... to my knowledge EBMM does not offer a clear pickguard for the SR5 though there is a company which makes them, I could give you the link but its not an official EBMM product, therefore not fair for me to advertize other company's products. Google MusicMan Pickguards and see what you can find.

I'm not really a big fan of seeing the electronics. JOSH

Would an SR4 control plate work on a SR5? I Love the pickguard shape on the SR4's and would be interested to see it on a SR5.
Well, yeah, duh, it worked on the SUB5 bass, right? (smacking self in head)

I have made ones using smoked plexiglass before and they are still a bit see thru but you can't see the wiring as much. Pretty easy to make a clear one out of plexi or 2 part epoxy.

It wouldn't work because there would be nothing to attach the SR5 preamp to...or to cover the routing for the preamp.

What if you made a banana plate that looked similar to the SR4 one and was big enough to cover the cavity? You could mount it on the outside of the clear guard and it would be held in place by the controls, just a thought.

I'm a big fan of clear guards on Bongo's and will be experimenting with this look in the next couple of weeks. I saw this picture on Talkbass and was convinced that clear was the way to go for me, I like seeing the finish between the pickups.
