With everything at 12 on the LMII except VLE & VPF off, and the stingray set flat boy can you hear your fingers touching the strings. Forget slides, the sound of sliding is lounder than the note. You really have to crank the VPF to get rid of the noise. I tried turning down the treble all the way on the SR with no reduction.

This is surely a clean sound with this setup but clean means clean means clean.

Anyone else experience this and what do you do to reduce it?

See if you can borrow a tube preamp (I am thinking the ART Tube MP). This might help. In my case it really seemed to tame an overly bright bass. Considering they only cost $30 new, you should be able to borrow or rent one for a day for next to nothing.

Cutting the mids a little bit might help as well.

As expected it is much more noticeable at higher volumes but more tame at lowr levels. Turning down the treble on the amp & bass has minimal effect. I forgot about the tweeter level in teh back of the cab since it it new. Thanks so far

I suggest you consider turning the cab tweeter control down also, but not all the way ... I read about potential damage by turning it right off ... try 1/4 way on.

As reticent as I am to appear in this thread, I think he means 12 o'clock, straight up.

The Eden 410xlt has lots of midrange...try turning down the tweeter but not all the way off as mentioned before. Or maybe add a 210xst for some sick lows.

I will have to try again tomorrow, my neighbors are home and I must keep it quiet for now so they don't complain again..

I cannot believe the power in that LMII

everything on 12?

Yes, You probably did not know this but MarkBass came out with a special amp that goes to 12 because they had to out-do the amps that went to 11 which were special made for Spinal Tap. ;)

Update for DrStankface,

I can be adjusted out using VLE and turning down the treble on everything. Changing strings is reported to help (coated &/or flats).

It really comes down to technique. You can't hide much with such a clean setup like this so it forces you to improve your technique.

I am thrilled with both products and they will ultimately not only give me a quality sound but I will improve too.

Now I know how much mud & other sounds are missing from othe brands.

I have a couple of Eden D112XLT's and a WT-550 and I have the tweeters almost all the way off for the same reason... I need to improve my technique.

I also have a 3-way Euphonic Audio cabinet that I almost cannot use for the same reason. Way to bright!

Thank goodness my Stingray has great tone controls on-board!

The d112xlts have massive midrange....most Eden players turned down the tweeter on them.

What do the tweeters have to do with the massive midrange?! Tweeters generally start above 3kHz, and that's not really bass midrange anymore...
