Congrat's, great bass, even if you are a little laid back in the enthusiasm dept!
No worries the bongo will grow on you minute by minute. Welcome aboard.

found the stealth switch!

stealtheds.jpg

Thanks everyone for welcoming me! :)

I can't tell you how hard the wait was. The Bass was at the shop in no time, but i had to save money for it, and that took a while. The guy at the shop let me play the bass whenever i was a the shop to make the wait easier. Didn't work ;) though i am still thankful that he gave me that opportunity.
It's such an awesome instrument. Though it really exposes all of my sloppy playing... but i guess that will make me a better player in the end.

I originally wanted the bass in sterling silver, but i just could'nt find a dealer for it, since i definitely wanted the HS pickups. They seem to be sparse. Now i am very happy that i ended up with this beast, silver is fine, but flat black is just so good.

So yeah, i've seen the light. :) sooo happy. I'll give my best to represent it well here in ger, seems to be a bongoless country right now. John Myung was here last month in my city and i saw him and his i think four or five bongo rack give an excellent live gig. I was suprised that i could make out so much of his sound. On cd you sometimes have to listen closely to even hear him. Live bongo, he was earthshaking.

More pics, alright.

Congrats and Thanks djaxup :)

Just show this to the wife and she said that the Stealth suits my personality!!! I had another all black Non-EBMM fretless that she said looked good on me. So, the next EBMM to come into the Ant home will be a Stealth Fretless to fill in the gap for the one that I am no longer using and is stored in a case in the back room. "Panther" will be reborn to rise and roam again :)

I will be looking at a fretless Stealth, either as a Bongo 4HSp, a Sterling 4HSp or a production version of the 25th Anniversary 4HSS. The only thing that will keep it from being a full reincarnation of my Melanistic Kitty is that the neck will not be ebony.

U i thought fretless = ebony fretboard? I have emailed EBMM already about the possibilty to get a standard bongo 4 neck with an ebony fretboard, it's sadly not planned/possible.

(hijack?) Hey, there's a six string Stealth Bongo on ebay right now, while we're on the subject. What a great looking (evil) bass guitar. Hats off to Music Man for not only producing a six string version of the Bongo, but making it available in Stealth with the black hardware issue is what I call going the extra mile.

I love the Stealth Bongos. Good choice on the HS. How are you liking it so far?

I'm loving it, really. It's a rather extreme upgrade from my previous squier p-bass, in just about every way. It's technically perfect, and looks simply gorgeous and unique, both in shape and color. Epic thing.

HS Pickups are just what i hoped them to be. A beastly growly/metallic MM humbucker is a must (and pretty much unavoidable ;)), but right now i find myself playing a lot on just the singlecoil. It has a very smooth and warm tone, gives a nice low pressure. I must admit having a rather bad amp/cab setup, so maybe i will learn to love the Humbucker more as soon as i have new amplification.

About the Sound of it, apart from my thin sounding Cab, you can get a pretty accurate idea of it by watching Ed's Bongo 6 Review on Youtube. It's an HS, too.

Right now i can't get enough of those very thumpy, muffled bass sound. That's why i ordered EB flatwounds for the bass. Thanks Musashi for your consulting btw :)
And DTG, what's wrong with being spotty?! Omg i totally fit into your scheme ;) plus some years, minus glasses and pants. Yeah. :D

oh no i just realised what i have done ......all these guys are going to turn their bongo to kill mode or send chuck norris after me or something,

sorry dude there is nothing wrong with being spotty or even wearing tweed pants, its just the ......man its a bass a super nice bass, its a bass i love and play but it wont turn me into chuck norris or make me leap tall buildings:D

yeah it will sound better with a good amp,but the best amp you can use is the one you own,
try this....dont plug it in just play it and feel the notes ring out,it really is an amazing bass.....its just not luke skywalker;)

NICE work mate!! My teacher endorses for spector but he played my Bongo and would not give it back haa haa!! He used every excuse for using it... showing me the different pickup tones and knobs etc .... i humored him. He couldn't believe the sound that came out of it...He just bought a 77 stingray but I swear the bongo will gnaw away at him mwaaa haaaa haaaa!!!

Is this just for fretless stealth bongos or also for fretted bongos?

If this is true (maybe BP can confirm this?), i would try to buy a new neck without hesitation.
