Hey guys,

despite all the recent events I must admit I had a great day today...I have a long weekend ahead of me and a new guitar to fool around with.
Today my roasted Morse finally arrived. What can I say? It is absolutely stunning. I only had a little time to rush through the switching options (and I'm sure they'll give me something to do before I know them by heart) but I'm definitely blown away with it's versatility. Being a Y2D owner I had a pretty good idea of what the "standard" Morse would be like but there's much more to it than I ever would have imagined (especially the singlecoil sound are surprisingly great!).

OK, enough talking for now...here are some pics:

Those are not the greatest pics to display the colour correctly but I got home too late to take some outdoor shots.

Funny little coincidence (especially for those interested in numerology - I normally am not one of those...;)):

I placed my order for the Morse on August 17th and received it (exatly 7 months to the day later) on March 17th which not only is St. Patrick's Day but also my girlfriends birthday. It's DOB is Februard 2nd - my late grandfather's birthday. Ain't that creepy...?! :D

That is awesome! Congrats on a beautiful Morse right there. I've been addicted to any and all Morse models since I got my Y2D. That sugar does look the nicest on the Morse models to me...but then again I am biased right now.

Yea, I honestly think the black pickguard looks nice on this, as it accentuates the sugar. If you put another pickguard, it might take away a bit from the color? Just my opinion...but again, it looks awesome!

Can you do a comparison between the Y2D you have and this one? Just curious how soncially different they are with the roasted and ebony and no maple top. Thanks.

Patrick,

Thats an awesome Roasted Morse and cool story/coincidence:D And well your pics are good, it is a nearly impossible color to photograph great choice and just anther killer piece in your collection!!

I am with you on different PG, while I like and dont mind the black PG on these, not a fan on others, so let me know what your thinking, going to try something different on the Silo Special.

Congrats my friend:cool::)

Me too...;) Black Sugar looks so great "in the flesh"...the sparkles are really subtle and the whole finish has a depth to it that simply can't be captured in a photograph.

Gratz. Welcome to the club, looks awesome.

Thanks, just saw you have one, too. I guess there are/will be not too many of those around!

Really nice Patrick!

I like the all black look but I know you’ll mess with that.

Thanks Jeff, it's your merit that I ordered a Morse...couldn't be happier with my choice!
I like the all black, too but the pg shows scratches/fingerprints so easily...I'm not sure but I guess I'll try something different just for the fun of it.

Haven't had much time to do a A/B comparison yet but to my ears the Morse is a bit brighter and less aggressive.

Congratulations and great pics - looking forward for more pics.
Standard Morse rules! :)

Thanks Steffen, I'd love to do a couple outdoor shots but the weather...
And you're 100% right - the standard Morse totally rules! :)

Thanks Keith! Got really excited when I read your mouthwatering review of the roasted necks and I'm so glad it finally arrived. That "numerology" is a total coincidence but I have to admit it adds a wee bit of especialness to the guitar.

Pickguard-wise I was thinking about tort as I always liked that combination...what was the discontinued one called you had on your olive gold Morse...?

Gotta love the Morse that is nice! It looks like your collection is in the double digits now which is another numerical milestone.

^ Thanks for the info Keith...gold swirl...I bet it would look great but I'm not sure if I'll be able to find one...on the other hand I always liked tort on black, it's a classic combination IMO.

BTW here's another shot I think you're gonna like...
