Funny you should mention it- would you believe that in just the right daylight condtions, the worn "edges" of my Stealth actually shows a purple/black color!

thats great, so if i rub it all day it'll turn purple, it'll be like a blackcurrent from those Ribena ads, and if u want it to be stealth again.. shoe polish..

I though it would look odd, it turns out it's cool! "mojo" like adouglas said. Now it's even more my favorite bongo color. Just imagine a Bongo 6 HS or HH in stealth black

I was wondering if I was the only bongo owner who'd notice the neck of my instrument had turned glossy (after 1 year of pretty intensive use :D ). Maybe it has also something to do with the acidity of one's hands...

Do your new strings turn flat quite fast ekb16b?

You're not alone. I've worn the satin finish on my white Bongo 4HH to a nice even gloss. The change is pretty uniform across the neck and it has been a subtle, gradual change over the last 3+ years. I hadn't really noticed until I received a new Bongo earlier this week. The difference between the satin neck finish on the new Bongo and the worn glossy finish on my old Bongo is not so subtle when compared side by side. Neither is better than the other IMO - they're just different. I can't seem to put the new Bongo down so I guess I'll have its neck worn to a nice gloss in a couple of years. :)
