Any Porcupine Tree fans out there -- their latest concert DVD, Anesthetize, features Collin Edwin playing his Stealth Bongo on several tracks. Really amazing band, much more popular in Europe than the US. Amazon link:

Funny, I just had the BluRay running during my lunch break and was a bit sad to see that the Bongo wasn't there for the first couple of songs... so I'm looking forward to check out the rest of the concert!

Still think Colin Edwin had the best live sound when he played the Bongo on the Arriving Somewhere tour.

He plays the Bongo on the In Absentia stuff. 4 songs, maybe. Oli, good to know you are a fan. They are not well known over here.

Finally one "normal" band on the market! :)

I like it!

Good sound work on this live video and musicians did it well too!

And they're doing it well for almost 20 years... Steven Wilson is a musical genius and the other band members are some of the best musicians, not only in the Prog Rock genre but all around.

Required listening for every music lover and musician, IMO.

Oh, sorry  ...I'm from other side of the planet, so I don't follow world music to much any more (oh God I'm so old  ).
I stuck somewhere in late '70s, whole '80s and early '90s!

But good music, is good music, no matter when we were born! ;)

I have the same problem, I move to Germany from the states in '89. I missed out on so much good stuff that did not make it over the Atlantic until this "Internet" thing got going.

I am going to have to look into porcupine tree. That Vid was awesome!

I'm from other side of the planet

That always depends on what you call "this side of the planet"... the only thing for sure is the "dark side of the moon"... ;-)

Porcupine Tree are from the UK. I think it's more a matter of what type of sound you're into. PT more or less "founded" the whole progressive rock genre, but became much more main stream yet refined and diverse at the same time.

You should also check out some of the band member's side projects: Blackfield, Ex-Wiseheads, No-Man, Bass Communion. Ranging from most beautiful music to most wierd soundscapes.
