But seriously, I am a little claustro, too - and I put people in those MRI things all day long! Lasted 30 seconds my first time in before I was calling to be taken out. A little vitamin V is just the thing!

Gassie - congrats on the Stealth HH - hope you have as much fun w yours as I do w mine!!

Last time I went in the tube the tech just put a folded wash cloth over my eyes and I was fine. The first time I went in the tech said "Don't open your eyes" which of course was all I could think of doing until I did then lost it.

That does help, and we do it here, too. Having great tunes in the headphones helps a lot, too - just to give your mind something else to do. (No air gutiar, though - you have to hold still!)

Even so, there are still many folks who need pharmaceutical help to make it through - it's tight in there!

Whoopee! The Steath is in Baltimore (from Florida). So close, yet so far!

Dr. Bongo, can you use headphones in the MR now? I remember when we couldn't even use a propofol infusion pump near the MR, but now they have non-mag pumps that are too cool.

The tech that did my first MRI when they put me under with Versed was this nasty old witch. They had to attach some sort of monitoring suction cups to my chest or something and they wouldn't stick because of my chest hair so she took a Bic razor and dry shaved a big X in the middle of my chest that took about a month to grow out.

Dude, did you see 40-Year Old Virgin? At least she didn't do that! I can't believe you didn't take some glamour shots of yourself licking a guitar with a big X in the middle of your chest.

It was bad man...this lady must have been a man hater (sensible shoes and nun ankles) because she just dry shaved half my skin off too...I was already going under on the Versed (not to metion the Roche 10 I took before and didn't tell them about) so I really didn't give a rat's ass at the time but when I got into the recovery room the nurses were all freaked out because I looked like I had road rash and was bleeding...that tech got written up and I got 2 (countem 2) telephone numbers from recovery room nurses. :)

Dude,

I got the patchy chest dry-shave a few months ago while having a cardiolite stress test. I forgot all about the 'bald spots' until I was at a pool in Lake Buena Vista, FL shortly afterward..

But hey.. I didn't cry about it. :p :D :D

Oh, man - that's too bad about the shave job - the idea is just to expose enough for the leads to stick - not disfigure anyone!

Gassie - Either MR compatible (non-ferromagnetic) headphones are used, or if it's a brain scan, the music goes right into the head coil. Pretty cool. The monitoring keeps getting better and better - it's a whole different game in the last few years now that everything gets made w titanium.

Ha ha ha ha. Hoo Hoo Hoo. Hee Hee Hee. Snort. Drool. Belch.

It's here! I know, I know, pix. I got it out of the box. Gotta get my camera. Sheesh. It's still warm from the UPS truck. Oh, it's beautiful. So "stealthy."

Sounds great! Exactly as I expected. Man, I can get a lot of sounds out of this thing.

Neck is really concave, though. Action is through the roof. Dude told me to wait a couple of days before I go adjusting. Must resist tinker mode.
