I'm kinda torn between two used JPs on the used market.
One's a pearl redburst one and one is a stealth one with the ebony board.
I've been wandering about the neck. I have never played a satin finished neck before, but I love the feel of the unfinished neck that is on the JPs.
Only thing that is keeping me from pulling the trigger on the stealth is that I'm not sure how the neck would feel compared to the unfinished one.

To make it even harder the stealth one is equipped with the piezo system and the pearl redburst isn't but the price difference is about 400€

So any insight on the feel of the satin necks would be welcome.
My hands sweat a lot. So regular finished necks tend to drag.

Thanks in advance.

I have felt a stealth neck, a BFR neck, and an unfinished all in the same sitting. And can tell you, there is very little difference between the two imho.

The one with the most drag is the finished BFR (even then, its so slight that its not a problem). And i could not tell a difference between the satin on the Stealth and the unfinished.

The satin is really smooth. I'd go Stealth! But that's because I'm biased towards not owning a PRB JP lol

my bfr has a finished neck and honestly it drags a bit more than i'd like. My axis is natural maple neck with gunstock rubbed oil finish and it's like playing with vasoline…hands just glide like there was nothing there…nothing beats that neck (IMO)
