Questions for the experts:
1. Is it the lighting, or is that finish partially gone? Or burnt?
2. Is that a neck-thru? The neck joint looks... like there isn't one.

I sure understand why. On my HS, I keep trying different pickup combinations, sticking with one for a week or two to get used to it, but I always wind up coming back to position 3 for its evenness of tone and the way it settles down into the mix without calling attention to itself. It just feels like home.
Not trying to imply this is optimum for all music styles, just for what I'm playing these days.
I read (or saw) somewhere that John Myung's Bongo HS is internally hard-wired for all 3 coils in at all times.

Hey Josh! I've been hiding primarily at work, and then recently drooling over the Starry Night offering.
I lurk around these parts every once in a while to see what's going on. I couldn't help but share this pic though, I think it's the first time I've seen him with a MM so I was pretty stoked about it.
