Recently bought a Sterling 5HH in mint condition used my first HH other than my Bongo. The 4th & 5th selection on the p/u switch the volume drops quite a lot is this normal? Love this bass! Punch and tone ya. Thanks gang

4th setting will sound weaker but the 5th shouldn't.

Usually the 2nd and 4th settings are weaker in output. The "neck only" position also has a vastly different tonal profile than the bridge only and bridge + neck position.

Have you replaced the battery recently? There's a TON more bass in the Neck position, which if you have an older battery, may simply be beyond the current capacity. Are you measuring this volume with just your ears, or an actual VU meter?

Thanks tbone I did replace battery no difference. In position 4&5 BIG drop in volume does not seem right. Will take it to my guitar guy.
