Sterling 5 vs SR5?

I am a very happy owner of 3 SR5's, and am contemplating having the new Sterling 5 join my little family. I have a few questions. I know that the neck on the Sterling is thinner, but how does it compare between the SR5 and the Sterling 5? Also, what other differences can I expect?

From what I've gathered...

I'm not sure on the neck. I'm pretty sure that BP said it was going to be thinner (front to back). The specs that have been posted give it the same fretboard width measurements as the SR5. Obviously it will be lighter due to the smaller body.

The pickups are the same as your SR5s (ceramic). I would assume that the preamp is also the same.

Thinner would not be better in my view. How thin can we get? I have medium sized hands and have way more than enough meat to coverthe fretboard on a SR5. I'd like a Sterling5 one day. Don't want it to feel fragile.

I'm sure it won't "be" fragile. I'm not exactly sure what "feel fragile" means, nor that it really matters. It's not like the neck is going to be flopping in the breeze. I think Jack once said "Everyone has feelings, but feelings can be wrong...like the feelings I have for the babysitter down the street..."

I would like to see some pictures of the new Sterling 5. I also would like to know what to expect in the neck. I mean I played a 4 and the neck reminded me alot of a Fender Jazz. Will the 5 feel the same but wider?

I can see that, but for me that's exactly why I'm interested. I have smaller hands, and getting around the Bongo 5 neck is a stretch for me, especially with faster, more intricate lines. Can't wait to try the Sterling!

Well, it also depends when you got your SR5...I got mine in '88 and those were Alnico and to my ears there is a difference in tone I hear, solo and with the band..That's exactly WHY you need both...and then there's that Bongo
