I am interested in getting a Sterling Cutlass CT50 HSS and was wondering:
1) How thick are the necks at first and 12th frets? AI says that the necks are THINNER than the neck on my Squier Classic Vibe 60's Strat, but then AI also says the necks are 23mm thick at the first fret, and my CV 60s strat neck is only around 20mm thick. If anyone has both, would love to hear your opinion on the neck differences and if you have calipers, a measurement in MM would be great..
If you have any other thoughts on how the CT-50 compares to the Squier CV 60's strat, would love to hear it. I am mostly interested in having a thicker, less-glossy neck, although I would prefer a rounder fretboard radius instead of 12-inches.
2) I am thinking of buying a used CT50 off of some place like Guitar Center but the photos GC takes are so bad It is hard to tell whether the models they sell are the more recent ones with roasted maple necks and locking tuners, or whether they are older ones. Sometimes GC mis-abels them (one is listed as a TC50 instead of a CT50. Are the newest models only available in specific colors? (Looing for the rosewood fretboard model, or the ones that are supposed to look like rosewood fretboards).
Any other thoughts on buying used off Guitar Center? Will they ship to my nearest GC store for free? Do I have to pay in advance?
Thanks for any tips.
