"Wendy Dio, his wife of over 20 years, announced his death just a few hours after he passed on May 16, 2010.

Wendy launched the “Stand Up and Shout for Cancer” fund in memory of Dio and requested that fans donate to the cause in lieu of memorials. Glam Guitars is one of many organizations that are ready to help.

A bejeweled guitar—with a Swarovski-studded rock ’n’ roll hand symbol—will be auctioned off at Christys, with net proceeds benefiting Stand Up and Shout for Cancer. "

EBMM Sterlings rock, no doubt. :cool:
I think Ronnie would have loved this.

Very nice. Let's see whether that one end's up with Hellboy as well ;)

Oh. Sorry but won't happen. :) Ronnie was great and it is indeed a noble cause but no more basses for Hellboy. Hellboy is a Stingray kind of guy and other than that very happy what I have now. No more basses needed. The oposite actually. Will sell several basses ahead and have started to sell some already. No Musicman basses will go tho. Me and my fine girlfriend are planning a trip around the globe on our motorbikes within five years from now so I am saving up for that. The plan is to pack the bikes and go east through Finland, Russia, Kaz, Mongolia, back into Russia and through Siberia/Road Of Bones to Magadan, ship the bikes to Alaska and drive down through Canada, USA, Mexico, Central/South America and ship the bikes to South Africa and back home through Afrika and Europe. The trip of a lifetime. Will sell at least 20 basses and pretty much everything else I have that I don't use frequently and also start saving the money I earn to finance the trip. The Musicman basses will definately all stay since they are my work tools but lots of others will go. I have around 40 basses now. At least half of them will be gone during these next years. This is something that we really want to do so no more basses for Hellboy. My girlfriend will sell her kids to raise money so anyone interested in a 19 year old girl and a 21 year old boy, send me a PM. They are potty trained and you don't even have to raise them. They are ready to move into their own apartment straight away and they will take care of you when you get old. Great deal.

Sincerely//Jan

Wow, what a trip you've got planned there. What kind of time frame are you thinking it'll take?

About 14 to 16 months.

* 4 or 5 months Sweden - Magadan.

* Could easily do Anchorage - San Diego in two weeks but will take about two months and visit old friends in Canada and USA at the same time. SLO is in the way. ;)

* Central + South America around 4 or 5 months.

* Africa and back home to old Sweden in 4 or 5 months.

I know people that have done Europe via Kaz, Mongolia, Siberia, Anchorage to NY in 3,5 month and a friend has done Bulgaria, Russia, Siberia, Vladivostok, Japan, Amerika, shipped the bike to Scotland and back to Bulgaria in four months. We´ve decided to do South America and Africa during the same trip. And Road of Bones to Magadan is a must. Will leave Sweden in late may about. The rivers will be flooded in far eastern Russia after the winter before that. Lots of paperwork to sort out. Visas, carnet and lots of planning. We have already some swedish and american bike magazines that wants us to write for them during the trip. Will also try to do a fundraiser when out travelling. There are some orphanages in Ukraine, Kaz and Mongolia that a friend of mine raised money for when doing a similar trip that we are looking into. They do need the support.

I was thinking about to take a Stingray with me on the trip. First bass around the globe on a motorbike. Won´t work most likely since space is indeed limited on the bike. We´ll need tents and camping gear for the russian part of the trip at least so the bikes will be fully loaded. But it would indeed be good fun and I would have something to practice on. Would be great if EBMM could make a small portable bass with a detachable neck. It has to be able to handle some heavy abuse and water too. :)

Sorry for going OT.

Permission granted. ;)
Wow what an amazing trip that's going to be! :)

Just came back from a bike trip to Bulgaria yesterday. Took 12 days off from work. Passed through Ukraine on my way back. The only person I met that spoke english in Ukraine was the hooker that knocked on my hotel room door in L´viv about four nights ago. We talked for about 20 minutes in the hallway. Nice girl with lots of humour. She asked if I wanted to have sex with her and she laughed when I asked her about how much she would be willing to pay me for that. She explained to me, still laughing, that I should pay her. I did not do business with her and she held on to her money too. They didn´t know what a cheeseburger was and I didn´t understand what the signs said at McDonalds. Interesting things happens when out traveling......
