I'm eagerly waiting for my new Sterling fretless to arrive from Bass Central; I have a question regarding fingerboard wear on the unfinished pao ferro fingerboard: The fretless basses I own have coated ebony fingerboards so using roundwounds has'nt been much of a problem. How well does pao ferro hold up when using nickel roundwounds? I'd rather not use flats on a fretless, I may consider a "ground round" if fingerboard wear is a concern.
