Is there a difference between the Sterling HH and the Stingray HH other than the Stingray comes in a 5 string option? I was looking at the technical diagrams on the website and didn't see a difference.

my apologies if this has been answered already. please don't shoot the newby.

Stingray HH:
Alnico pickups
All switch positions in parallel
Stingray preamp

Sterling HH:
Ceramic pickups
All switch positions in series
Sterling preamp

The Stingray HH sounds great but with the narrower neck, lighter weight and the Sterling preamp I chose the HH Sterling - twice!

Try a single pickup Sterling with the switch towards the neck vs a single pickup Stingray. Whichever sounds better should be the HH model you choose.

thanks for the tips and info. I'll compare the H versions of both and go from there. Plus, if I decide on the Sterling5 at least it will delay my G.A.S. purchase a bit longer
