Sterling JP60 - Floating Trem...Decked?

Just took delivery of a new SbMM JP60 in Mystic Dream (quite stunning of course). I will assume this guitar and all of John's sig models are meant to be used setup with the trem floating. My question being...I am blown away by the overall feel of this guitar...but can I "deck" the trem? The way the body is cut initially says no, but I may be wrong. I very rarely use the trem as I have a very strong vibrato hand and play classic rock. A few 80's songs might use it but...

Can I block the trem and keep it "happy"? It took me about 12-15 minutes tonight to tune the guitar as the seller de-tuned it at least a full octave. I get the whole floating thing, but have stayed away due to bends sending other strings out of tune...though I will say I didn't notice that for the little bit I played it at a gig.

Sure. Lots of ways to do that- put something in the trem cavity between the trem block and the wall. For example, a block of wood, etc.

Ok...I also purchased an SbMM JP100D at the same time as the SbMM JP60. And I am definitely keeping the JP100D as the thing just completely rocks! The stock Dimarzio LiquiFire/Crunch Lab combo through my Mesa 5:25 Express+ is amazing. Give the guitar and the pickups WERE made to be played through a Mesa it goes without saying

And most importantly, the floating bridge stays in tune just as well as my decked Luke. And that is with stock locking tuners. I have Schaller locking tuners on all of my other guitars but I don't see a need to change these.

The JP100D is the Guitar Center model with Basswood body. Anyone know the years these were made?
