Hi, I am new here. I recently decided to sell my rga8 to get sterling JP60 since I can't afford a real JP lol. I am really drawn to the design of the JP and I heard good things about the JP60. My band plays in an awfully low tuning and I was wondering if the guitar can take it? We tune as low as drop a to drop g. Could really use the help guys. Thanks!

Shouldn't you be playing a Bass instead? :p

While I have no experience with G, with the right string gauge, it might work. But I doubt it would be stable. It might sound flubby and undefined. You would probably be better off buying a baritone guitar for a tuning like that.

G... holy moly ......

Might be way easier to get a 7 and drop the B to G. E down to G is awfully low. Youll need heavy gauge, real heavy and high action.

You could take a heavy gauge 7 string set and drop the high E. But I wouldn't count on it.
