I’m not a guitar player and I know very little about the electronics involved but I purchased a sub series axis from a guy and the wiring is all screwed up the selectors only work in 2 positions of a 5 way switch and there is a bunch of loose wires inside the access cover. Does anyone have a wiring diagram. I believe the terminology is two humbuckers, one tone, one volume with the five way selector. I would be extremely appreciative of any help you can give me

Stock configuration for the Sterling Axis (and, for that matter, the EBMM Axis Super Sport) is Neck, Neck+Bridge Inner Coils, Neck+Bridge, Neck+Bridge Outer Coils, Bridge, in order on the 5-way starting with the selector pointing to the neck.

This diagram should work:

Found that on DiMarzio's website, where they have wiring diagrams for nearly every conceivable configuration: Wiring Diagrams | DiMarzio

wood soap (Murphy's), elbow grease, tooth brush, love and passion, fine scotch Brite pads and time have helped me clean necks and finger boards in the past.
When it is clean to your satisfaction,
The necks are finished with an oil then wax finish (Birchwood Casey)
like the oil and wax, a little research goes a long way. This topic is discussed a bunch here on this forum and the search terms can help you with that.

The best preventive measure I have found is to wash my hands before I play. I am not shy about asking others to wash their hands first before they play my guitars. Almost all are willing to oblige.

0000 steel wool works wonders on the fret board just keep clear of the electronics and what Norm said , wash your hands you dirty animals :)
