Hello,

I just bought a Sterling 1996 and I love it. Problem is due to a freak accident the string nut got cracked. I need a replacement.

Would this work?

Its a Jazz bass nut, 1 1/2" from bass parts resource. I did searches and can't find anyone who sells replacement nuts for a Sterling. Can't find anything aftermarket either except pickups and pickgaurds.

I need to get this bass up and running ASAP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its a Brass nut from Bass Parts Resource
I have one on my Jazz and it's absolutely great. I know alot of people say nuts don't make a difference but it woke my other bass up. Especially for slap as it increased harmonics tenfold.

I had previously ordered one and what do you know... It just showed up this afternoon. Think I am going to give it a try. If it doesn't work I'll give EB a call.

I'd still get the nut thats '' supposed '' to be on your bass. If EBMM though a brass nut was better for their basses, they would probably put them on their basses...
