JMHO, but I don't see hardly ANY EBMM content here. Lots of Aggy and MB though.
It was recorded using a Sterling Ray 34....if the moderators want to remove due to lack of MM content that's ok by me. I just really like the way the Sterlings sound.
Thanks!!

Hey Steve nice demo, what foul ? The entire demo was with a Ray 34. Maybe you can get helmut with a camera attached pointing down. By the way I bought a Ray 35 after watching your well done demo and I recommended it to a friend and he got a Ray 35 as well. Good job Bro. Rick

I wasn't trying to MODERATE, but merely giving my opinion. I felt that the overall content was more geared toward the tonehammer. Plus it had more of an infomercial feel than anything else. Bassmonkee, why not keep YOUR moderation away from ME? :)

Thanks Rick!! Appreciate it my brother!! Congrats on the Ray 35!! I REALLY stand behind these basses as being incredible instruments. I gig with the Ray 35 on 80% of my gigs now, it's ridiculously versatile....I never thought a one pick up bass could have so many sounds!!
Thanks again!!!

Hi John,
I certainly didn't want to stir up any trouble, definitely not my intention. My review of the Tone Hammer is just that, a demo/review of a killer DI and one of it's features. I used the Ray 34 because it sounds so good and really brings out a great characteristic of the Tone Hammers AGS circuit.
Btw-I will take the infomercial comment as a compliment for sure!! I'm just a guy with a passion for BASS!!!!

I too love the Ray34 sound Steve, but personally I never understand the benefits of having a Bass with a Pre-Amp (Ray34) going into a Pedal Pre-Amp (T/Hammer) into the Amplifier with a Pre-Amp, it just seems like an awful use of each one and an increase in the noise floor each time you do it.
As for the drive tones, there are a ship load of other dedicated Bass Drive Pedals on the market without having to have another Pre-Amp in the chain (you state that the drive circuit can't be used without the Pre-Amp being on).

I'm a proud owner and lover of an Aguilar DB359 (200w All valve Head) so I'm not a hater just someone who's found my best tones are found with the shortest signal path.

Couldn't agree with you more!! That's why I used my 69' Precision for my Review of the ToneHammer as a DI. This review was to show off the AGS circuit. There are a TON of OD pedals out there and if you own a ToneHammer it's nice to know that there's a great OD pedal lurking in it.
I love, and prefer my signal chain being as short as possible too. Bass straight into a DI is fine with me, or bass straight into my amp, but some people get great tone going through many pedals and pre's...if it sounds good it really doesn't matter how you get it.

Touché :)

While we are on Aggy gear, I also own DB 900 powered valve DI which is one of the best sounding DI's for Studio uses (in my opinion) and as you dig in it breaks up beautifully with that natural Tube Compression and Harmonic Distortion you can get from a Valve.

I love that Aggy DI!! Incredible sounding!! I got my hands on a REDDI by A Designs that kind of emulates the valve/tube sound. I think all bassists need and should really invest in a couple of really killer DI's for recording and for live performances, it's nice to have your own sound and not have to rely on the people running the sound.

Steve I've spent many years on the road with Killer Di's with Jensen Transformers etc your still at the mercy of the sound guy no mater what Di you use, I agree the better the Di the better chance of sounding better but ya better have a Great Tech cause he can make a DOD Di sound good.

Thanks for checking out my video, much appreciated!! Sometimes no matter how great your gear you definitely are at the mercy of the FOH guy....then you only have yourself and your hands to make that bass sound killer!!!
I agree with you except for one thing....I think YOU probably make that DOD DI sound great!!

Maybe people should leave the moderating to the moderators.

Agreed, we have very good moderators already ;)

Great video, i would like to try that DI someday. I´m currently using a MXR pre-DI and its good but its really old and needs to be replaced.

The bass sounded great too :D
