Sterling Silo 3 Vs AX3

I have both because they each have a unique sound, of course, due to the HSS vs. HH pickup configurations. The Silo 3 has much more clear & bright belltones & twang particularly in the 2nd position (neck and middle pickups) which I love for rockabilly and funky blues. The Axis has a deeper richer sound good for Santana and jazz, and the HH's handle overdrive better, IMO. The necks are both great but I ride the neck on the Silo 3 a bit easier. The only downside of the Silo 3 are the single coil pickups which create a lot of hum in the neck and middle positions, which single coils are prone to do. But I combo most of the time, doubling up pickups to cancel the hum without getting too much of a a muddier pure humbucker sound. I only wanted one guitar but for the price points of each, I didn't feel I was breaking the bank. Both are great guitars: proof you con't have to spend a fortune for awesome players and fantastic sound.
