Hi all - just curious - looking for some advice. Do you think my Sterling Silo 30's neck could be finished such as the MM's necks are - with the nice oil/wax finish or something similiar? If so what type of product would you recommend? Do you think I could do it without having to disassemble the neck completely? I really like the feel of the unfinished neck but I am wondering if it could be improved cosmetically. I did notice the headstock top doesn't feel like the same type of wood finish as the rest of the neck.

Maybe Pat Park could provide some feedback.

Thanks

It could certainly be done. I did this to my sub-1 and to a non-ebmm guitar. I sanded the finish and then did 2 coats of Birchwood Casey tru oil....letting it sit for only 45 seconds before wiping it off. About half an hour between coats. I would highly recommend doing this with any guitar!

Thanks for the info Jack. Did you do the whole neck including the fretboard or just the back of the neck?
