Sterling Silo body fit to EBMM Silhouette neck?

Hey guys,

Oddball questions here.
I just picked up a Silhouette Special in black on a trade. I don't care for black though, and was thinking about picking up a Sterling SUB Silo3 in honeyburst to swap bodies with. 2 reasons for this:

1) Honeyburst rocks way more than black
2) This "Hardwood" I see the Sterling SUB is made of is reportedly very light, which is a very nice selling point to me.

So my question is, will a Silhouette neck fit on a SUB Silo 3 body? Is the neck pocket and bolt pattern the same to accomodate this?

As a disclaimer: I have zero intention of selling this guitar, and would reassemble true EBMM parts if I ever did sell it. This is my own preference for finish, that's all. I could refinish the black body, but I just want to playyyyy thiisssssss guitarrrrrr!!!!

Anyway, any help is appreciated.

Refinish it if the color matters that much, the sterlings are great but the SUB series is the lowest of the sterlings, and the wood would probably not be as good as a USA ebmm, especially the bridge and pickups and all, i would strongly suggest against this, the ebmm is great and if you want honeyburst there are some great painter refinisher's out there. Let me be clear, I want to use my EBMM neck and pickups and hardware and everything, I'm only curous about the body routing for the neck and I suppose the tremolo fitting. If the tone wasn't there I could switch back, but I'd rather not modify the original EBMM body in the event that I decide to sell the guitar in the future.

Thanks for your extremely unconstructive feedback.
The fact that I don't like black paint has nothing to do with how this neck feels or plays. If I wanted to just get rid of it, that's what I would do and I wouldn't be asking this question. I'm trying to preserve something I enjoy without having to endure something I don't in the black paint. Lots of people don't like black guitars, and I happen to be one of them.

I don't know how many folks have tried swapping MM parts with Sterling parts. You might be better off asking the Sterling folks directly (there's a thread with the contact info). I'm going to wager that the neck pockets and screw positions are different.

Soupcon's advice is kind of on the money though ... rather than mix and match two brands, you're probably better off selling your Silo and picking up a used one in the colour you like. The neck profiles will be the same.

Another option is to get your Silo refinished. Plenty of guys do this so you could probably get some good recommendations as to where to take it.

Thanks, this is the answer I was looking for.

And I reiterate, this neck is THE NECK. They are not the same, I've owned 4 JP's, all different years, and VASTLY different neck profiles. The little bit of wood removed differently from finishing the handwork after the CNC machine has its way with the neck makes a difference in feel, for me anyway. I'm very happy with my Silo neck and don't want to change out this one. I also didn't want to modify the original body, but it looks like that's my best option now. I've had lots of guitars refinished so I have my own plans in mind, I guess.
