Have any of you played one of these? How do they sound?

I'm thinking that I might try to find one. They seem rare as hens teeth.

I love Sterlings. I used to have a fretless honeyburst Sterling. I never used the switching on the fretless. So, the SUB Sterling might be a very resonable alternative for me. Why pay for something I never use? Of course, that's assuming the Sterling SUB fretless's sound as good as their pricier brethren...

Well, I've never played a SUB fretless, but I've played a fretted one. And I must say they are two different beasts. The difference in sound is equal to the difference in cash, IMHO, it's not bad but very different.

Don't know if this helps much ;)
Some of the guys around here is prob going to help you out in a bit. Hang in there

-cheers

Well he is asking specigically about the Sterling SUB, which is even more rare. Someone on here has a SUB fretless, not the sterling, but it sounds very good from what I have heard of it. The Subs dont sound exactly like the regular models , but similiar. Some say they have a little more trebely of a tone, especially the passive ones (?)
