I'm not a bass player but want one for around my house. Found a used walnut satin for $200 and just wanting the pros and cons

Thanks

Hi T-Bone,

Ray4 in Walnut Satin is our #1 selling model/color for the SUB Series basses. It's a Guitar Center exclusive in the USA.
Features a 38mm nut, Basswood body, Maple Neck, Rosewood fretboard. Hardware is generic, as are the electronics ( so that we can hit the entry level price point ). It has a USA Street Price of $299.
They are great basses for the money, and I've found that quite a few players have found them to be a fantastic platform for personalization and modification. There is a HUGE thread on TalkBass.com where many of the owners share their different mods and such.
If you need any other info, just ask!

I have owned several and for the money nothing comes close. Great feeling neck, stingray tone, lots of punch.

Thanks Brian! I picked it up yesterday and have to say that it feels very comfy!...and looks great. I did see your thread somewhere on a mod with the electronics. I've printed that out and plan on doing it since I'm very handy with soldering and such.
Thanks again!
Tom
