Second, what a novel idea for a thread! I wish someone would have thought of this earlier.
Third, I (which surprisingly is both a letter AND a pronoun) do not think Stingrays suck - and neither do thousands and thousands of other experienced players.
Fourth, could we possibly keep the discourse above the 8th grade level?
Billy Bob you clearly do not know how to speak English...i had to read that questions around 5 times to understand what you were saying...and once again "u" is not a pronoun its definatly a vowel.
Now when you say "who cares what u is", are you asking "Who cares what you is"? I'm just trying to be clear on this.
Of course, you may think we were just making fun of you, but we were actually trying to help. Who cares what 'u' is? Well, I do, and thousands and thousands of English teachers across the country - they care, too.
Let us help you.
One question, though - "its just shorter than you little sh#t" - what is shorter than I am? I may have missed something. A Sterling is shorter than am I? A Stingray? What?
billy bob you are a rare character on the EB forums...clearly (lets keep it lazy cant seem to find the Y and the O) "u" don't realize that the EB forums are a place for love and relationships with our basses....actually no its not...its a place to gloat over what u have and, if necessary, find a solution to a stress crack problem...there taking over the forums...and of course find out your babys DOB.
Back on the subject,
Since it's creation back in the 70's, the Stingray was critisized for being a one sound bass, I can perfectly understand behind Ernie Ball's rational behind their design and, personally, find handy having a series/ parallel toggle switch. I own a SR but also a G&L 2500 that offers me the same choice (series/parallel).
When trying the Sterling at my local shop I found it a bit too small for my liking, personally prefer the SR, but it's sound was as good with more sonic choices.
Cheers
Augusto
