So it's just pickup straight to volume? Wouldn't this sound pretty much like a regular old P Bass?

So much of the magic of EBMM basses is the preamp.

Didn't really buy it to play, just liked the idea of owning some NiN history.

Why would it sound like Pbass? The pickup is much closer to the bridge and of a completely different type. It should still sound like a Sterling for the most part.
