Hey there,

had the pleasure to see 2 of EBMM´s signature artists within 4 days:

23/03/2009: Steve Lukather in Augsburg

Unfortunately my pics are not very good, the one from vienna here on the forum are much better.
One mystery is left: When leaving the stage, Luke seems to be very fit. Half an hour later, when he came signing, he seemed to be damaged. That was very funny and he was that cool!

26/03/2009: Albert Lee and Hogan´s Heroes in Munich

The gig was in a really small venue, the „Rattlesnake Saloon“, which was great as I had a seat directly in front of the stage and 2m away from Mr. Lee and in front of his amp :)

They played about 2,5 hrs, incl. a break. To see Albert Lee live is even better than seeing him on DVD or youtube… I never heard someone play a clean guitar that accurate (maybe except Steve Morse :) ).

After the show they signed everything including my Albert Lee EBMM. The whole band seems to be very easy. Elio Pace, the keyboarder was very interested in my guitar and wanted to know how much and where I bought it ... I told Albert Lee that we all read his posts lately here and that some guys from this forum are guilty for making me wanting the AL-guitar… When I did it back in the case Elio and Albert Lee talked again about my guitar and pointed on it… „eh a hardtail…without tremolo… more sustain…“

Long story short: Here are some pics (also follow the links above for more). I´ll post some videoclips from Albert Lee later on.

Great shots!
Always a terrific evening listening to these guys live. Some of the notes luke squeezes out when he's in slow building whammy bar to ripping mode are just unbelievable.

And nobody plays clean runs better than al. I absolutely love his hybrid style picking.

well I think it´s relatively safe for club owners to book acts like Luke or Albert in small venues - sold out... but it´s also very hard these days for newcomers to get good gigs. My impression is, that successful acts play a lot. Seems like they really earn their money with gigs these days.

You know you're in the South of Germany when there's a Rebel flag on the wall.

Both accompanying bassists had MM basses too! The AL videos are quite nice. One of the many great things of hearing such world class acts like Mr. Lee (I experienced it with Santana) is that everyone on the backing band is just as good!
