I think that Luke + Axis was signed by Jeff Beck and his guitar tech or someone wiped off the signature by accident or something....

that particular Axis SSS was used lived on the Mindfield Tour during the song "Cruel" I guess if you do a search on Youtube you could hear it, there is a famous bootleg DVD of a show in Yokohama

As for the proto, nice find Rob :)

seemed to be really nice!!! a luke with a maple fretboard!!!:):)

for the other , i saw it in action in 99 for the mindfield tour , he played it for "cruel"!!!;)

That's a gap in the MM line I'd like to see filled - direct-mount H/S/S, traditional pups, Floyd.
If Luke is moving away from EMGs, who knows, maybe it'll come in time.
Or they could simply do an H/S/S Axis.

Hi Guys,

Anybody knows what was the white humbucker pickup Steve used on the blue luke?
I don't know that there was a time Steve lukather prefers to use passive pickup on his guitar, are those dimarzios?

I'm pretty sure there's a vid of Luke playing the Axis on one of the Toto CDs... Yup! Checked it toto02.mov on the Livefield Bonus Disc.
