The Steve Morse Band/Dixie Dregs show at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA on January 22 was filmed. 30 minutes of this footage will be aired on the Cox Cable systems in California (date of broadcast to be confirmed). There is also a possibility of releasing this show on DVD in the future. Check back for more details as they become available.

I was fortunate enough to get tickets for their first show of this season at McNears in Petaluma. The show was sold out. They got such an awesome response that Morse and LaRue actually were overwhelmed and blushing at the amount of support from the audience. I had one of my friends who saw Dregs/SMB for the first time. He was really amazed how humble they were.

The best thing that I love about Morse and the Dregs is the fact, when you go to see him, you are actually learning good lessons on how to sound like a band instead of just individual talented musicians who are out there to display their wares.

They are also one more of those bands, who are meant to be watched live more rather than just hear them on records. Their magic is only completely felt when you get to see them lilve.

Really good stuff!!. If Morse and Dave play together in any venue within 100 miles of SF Bay Area, I will DEFINITELY get my a$$ in that venue somehow.

I think I better stop now. I am almost running out of things to type. :D :D

Exactly! They raise the bar so high on individual skill and composition level, all with like zero time to practice before these gigs.

I'm trying to talk my cousin Bob (56) into seeing them in chicago. He actually went to school in the 60's with Jerry Goodman and some of the guys in Jerry's early and excellent band THE FLOCK.

In fact, Bob played a snippet from one of Jerry's songs from 1969 at his daughters wedding in oct. 2000 as he introduced the bride and groom to the reception.

I said, "Bob, you gotta tell Jerry that story at the meet'n'greet!" No higher compliment than that.

I got Bob the Sects Dregs RNR dvd for his birthday last year so he could see Jerry play again.
