Yeah, what Kevin said.

The old Morse 2-way adds the bridge p'up to whatever was selected on the lever, and the 3-way way adds the strat p'up, which isn't on the Y2D.

As for adding a switch ... if you do need one where would you put it? You don't want to drill into the body (bad bad bad), but could put one where the tone pot is if you don't use it.

hello,
i want just take the switch into the body. i looked a video from steve m. with a Y2D with creme PU´s.
in this video there was a swith like the old sm modell.
How does it act? i have no think about the electronic of this combination???
i want to put a hole into the body because i have 6 Y2D´s and i take this one just for "hard gig working".

Thank you

first of all, you have 6 Y2D's? We want pics. That guitar you are talking about is a prototype, the end result is that design never made the cut. I personally love the extra toggle to kick in the bridge pickup, so I say go for it. And please post pics of that and the others...

That's a 2-way toggle (not 3-way) to add the bridge humbucker to whatever is selected on the blade/lever switch. To do that you'll have to replace the 5-way blade switch on your Y2D as well. Think very hard before you do this mod. Besides adding a cool-looking toggle on the guitar (ok, some people actually prefer that kinda switch ;)), it doesn't give you any more pup combos than the stock 5-way.

Here's a webpage for EBMM diagrams: http://www.ernieball.com/mmonline/techinfo/

don't forget that the top on a y2d is ALOT thicker than the pickguard on the standard model. the hole will need to be recessed on the underside.
WARNING
this is gonna be dangerously tricky...
