Steve Morse Y2D Questions (?)

Fellas!
Does Steve ever use the Floyd Rose version when performing?
Also, I think I see the FR equipped guitar both surface mounted as well as recessed (to float, I imagine).
Are both FR types available? Option?

I think if you order one now, it will be recessed. They used to be surface mounted, but I don't know when the switch was..

I have seen Steve use the Floyd Rose equipped guitar in earlier live DVDs. Check "Perfect Strangers" or "Highway Star", he uses the Floyd Rose in those songs.

The Floyd is recessed on all SM models.

steves guitars are routed, but the regular run was surface mounted until 2010 or 2011 i think.
my '09 is surface mounted and my '12 is routed.

All new Steve Morse models have recessed Floyds.

I figured there was a change somewhere or an option, cause you can clearly see both in available photos. Thanks* I'm mulling over one of these. If I got a FR, I'd want it floating/recessed. The idea of a lot less hardware and a solid bridge is also enticing. I do use a trem, occasionally though, and often gig a guitar without a trem. Decisions....

it was not an option! EBMM didn't offer recessed floyds on the morse models in the last decade.
steves guitars are recessed, that's right, and they were made in the past decades, but only his guitars were made like this.
